Welcome to the second edition of our quarterly newsletter. This month we are preparing for Christmas with an A1 group Christmas Jumper day where this year we will be supporting Save the Children.
Since our last newsletter we have updated our fleet, achieved further FORS accreditations and are supporting a wonderful new local charity; The Cowshed.

WCS can now offer exotic car parts!
A1 Car Spares are thrilled that they can now supply second hand 'supercar' parts to the exotic car market. The deal was completed in the summer and has added an exciting new layer to their customer base with the supply of harder to find 'exotic' car parts.
The first 'supercars' to arrive for breaking included a 2020 Tesla Model 3 and a 2014 Lamborghini Huracan.

Innovation success for Wet Waste A testimony to our hardworking Wet Waste team!
During lockdown we were thrilled to have had the opportunity to innovate and collaborate with J Pratley & Sons (metal fabricators) to create a custom built roll on/ roll off tanker for our wet waste division.
This new tanker boasts 3000 gallons of waste storage which means that the tank can now be left on site and used as a storage tank for a large block of toilets.

FORS Practitioner award Stuart Cawthorne; our Transport Manager is now a fully fledged FORS Practitioner. After completing a series of workshops covering all aspects of fleet management he is now fully certified.
The series of workshops provide the tools needed to reduce road risk and environmental impact, boost the performance of A1's transport operation and help meet the requirements of the FORS standard.

Health & Safety update As always it's been a busy few months for Health & Safety with the number of vehicle incidents rising mainly attributed to the event industry kick starting again following Covid lockdowns. May we remind all employees to take care whilst on the road and be mindful of the speed limits. The good news is employee accidents have been zero - let's keep it like this - well done!
Following an incident in the Scrapyard we are reviewing the procedure for visitors on site - they must at all times wear a Hi-Viz Jacket, be accompanied by a staff member and remain in the designated areas/bays whilst working on the vehicle - further details in due course. Accidents hurt - Safety doesn't! |
