| To truly understand human life is to know the nonconceptual reality and still live a personal life of love, work and knowledge. It is to know directly that we are the unfathomable reality, that all differentiations are conceptual, and still live in this differentiated world, appreciating its richness, variety and beauty.

Join Diamond Approach teacher Julia Dengel for an in-depth exploration of one of Almaas’ most accessible books.
We will investigate the first five chapters during bi-weekly, two-hour in-person meetings, combining group discussion and experiential exploration. This is an excellent opportunity to get a flavor of the Diamond Approach teaching, or for those who are familiar with the teaching to dive more deeply in an informal, interactive group. Every other Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm MST (March 7 & 21, April 4 & 18, & May 2). $125 for the series with sliding scale. Please read the chapter before each meeting. To register contact julia@frontier.net. Please put “book group” in the subject line.
Books can be purchased at Maria’s Book Shop in Durango or on-line.

| | Loneliness Inside Out A Special Mini-retreat ~ 17 & 18 March 2023 |
|
| | Loneliness is part of the human condition. Everyone feels lonely at times, and there is always the possibility of more loneliness in the future.
Many of us spend a lot of time trying to protect ourselves from feeling lonely. Many of us relate to our loneliness as a personal failure, or the consequence of a basic fault in us.
The fact is loneliness hurts.
It’s one of the most vulnerable and deeply held emotional wounds human beings experience. It makes our separateness as individuals feel like a gap we cannot cross. We are cut off from the unity of love, adrift, and on our own. CONTINUE READING... |

| | | | Building and Fundraising Update
We have selected the contractors to do the interior renovations and hope to have signed contracts by the end of the month. That will be one of the final steps to applying for the permits we need to do the construction.
Our Land Design has been simplified and the Team is in the process of gathering bids to complete the projects so we’ll know how much fund raising we need to do.
Donors have been very generous. Prior to the November Community gathering $35,176 had been donated. Since that meeting, another $108,265 has been donated totaling $143,441 to date. That, along with the remaining funds from the insurance settlement and the sale of our property on Marshall Road, gives us sufficient funds to pay for all the interior work planned.
For all of you who have contributed, THANK YOU! Your generosity is helping us to create a beautiful center that can provide a holding not only for ourselves but for generations of students to come.
We are not done yet. Soon we will have final numbers for the outside work that we would like to complete including patios, a shade structure, and landscaping.
With gratitude, The Baseline Renovation Team Patty Rice, Scott Schell, Seth Schapiro, Skip Arnold, Laurie Chestnut, Gary Haraldsen |
