SAFEST Choice

Seeking Clinics for Virtual Learning Collaborative

In collaboration with Boston Medical Center, Proof Alliance is seeking health centers in the Upper Midwest and New England for the SAFEST Choice Learning Collaborative.

SAFEST Choice features ECHO virtual education and aims to reduce the incidence of prenatal alcohol exposure and improve outcomes in children with suspected or diagnosed FASD. Community health centers and clinics are invited to participate in Prenatal and/or Pediatric cohorts to learn FASD specialty-specific core competencies. The prenatal cohort will learn how to screen for and counsel women about the risks of alcohol use during pregnancy, and the pediatric cohort will learn how to identify and care for children with suspected or diagnose FASD. Participating CHCs will receive free continuing education and ongoing technical assistance over the course of a year, as well as a stipend to support a champion at their site. Participation will begin in May 2022.
