MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

July 2024

Dear friends,

Welcome back for the July 2024 edition of our newsletter. We hope you’re beating the heat and finding time to unwind. How was your Fourth of July? We spent the day cooking out with loved ones and enjoying the fireworks. We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates with you as the seeds we planted this spring continue to sprout.

We’re grateful for opportunities we’ve had to share community-generated wisdom and healing strategies with our partners supporting rural Eastern N.C. For example, we collaborated with the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust to share strategies for leveraging community engagement to build capacity. These moments of collaboration remind us of why we do this work.

And we’re excited to update you on the progress we’re making with the second year of the Tarboro Young Civic Leaders program as we embrace the capacity of young people to be agents of change in their communities.

Finally, we urge you to keep reading to learn more about valuable resources you can share with your community and to see fresh perspectives on the work ROI is doing to reimagine models of community wellness.

Onward!

Vichi and Seth

The Latest from ROI

Seth at the Kate B. Reynolds Statewide Health Improvement Advisory Council

On May 29, Seth represented ROI at the Kate B. Reynolds Statewide Health Improvement Advisory Council Meeting. He shared valuable insight with attendees regarding Community-Based Systems Mapping as a tool to find leverage and build strategy through community engagement. We’re thrilled to be in partnership with other organizations invested in systems change in rural N.C. communities.
