Dear friends,
Thanks for tuning in to our latest round of updates. We hope that you’ve managed to stay safe and dry in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Our thoughts are with our friends and neighbors in Western NC who were most severely affected.
As we settle into fall, we’re looking forward to cool breezes, crunchy leaves, pumpkin spice, and Halloween treats. Meantime, our team is as busy as ever. La’Shanda recently hit her one month anniversary with ROI, but she's already made waves with her work on our Medicaid Learning Collaborative. (Keep reading to learn more!)
Also, our next Edgecombe Community Meeting is coming up in November! If you're looking for ways to get involved in your community, join other local residents to discuss how we can all work together toward a brighter future. RSVP instructions below. We look forward to seeing you there.
Onward!

Update on ROI's Medicaid Learning Collaborative |
We held our first two sessions of our Medicaid Learning Collaborative in September. Thank you to the leaders at Edgecombe County Public Schools for their support of the pilot at HOPE Alternative Learning School. Their visionary leadership has laid the groundwork for statewide access to Medicaid reimbursement for school-based mental health services. You can reach out to La'Shanda to learn more about the Collaborative.

Seth and La'Shanda at the Carolina Network for School Behavioral Health |
In September Seth and La’Shanda presented at the Carolina Network for School Behavioral Health, where they highlighted our work with the Medicaid Learning Collaborative. They met members of the Collaborative from across the state including Carteret, Dare, Edgecombe, Jackson, Nash, Person, and Sampson counties. We’re grateful to be in community with professionals invested in building supportive networks to improve youth educational and mental health outcomes. Check out the Network's website to learn more about their work.
