The TMDL Implementation Plan has been revised to include two new addendums for Dry Branch Creek and North Fork Cottonwood Creek. These addendums were approved by the EPA through an Addendum to the State’s Water Quality Management Plan.
NCTCOG will be seeking approval on the revised Implementation Plan at the June 27, 2024 TMDL Coordination Committee meeting. The draft Implementation Plan Twenty-Three Total Maximum Daily Loads for Bacteria in the Greater Trinity River Region is available to review by clicking the button below.

TMDL Annual Program Summary
The TMDL 2023 Annual Program Summary is available for review here. This summary displays the clear progress being made to reducing the amount of bacteria loading in the Greater Trinity River basin during calendar year 2023.

Available Now: Wastewater Educational One-Page Flyers
The Wastewater Educational One-Page Flyers are now finalized and available for use! These materials include information for restaurants, car washes, senior living centers, and day care facilities to help workers understand what TMDLs are, why they matter, and primary pollutants of concern for their business.
Over summer 2024, NCTCOG will be working to develop additional wastewater materials that focus on eye-catching content for TMDL specifically for daycares and senior living centers. NCTCOG will also be developing a set of slides that can be utilized by cities on how to prevent sanitary sewer overload. NCTCOG anticipates sharing these with stakeholders for review in August 2024. Rachel Richter will present information on how to discourage feeding waterfowl and managing nuisance rookeries. Adam Henry will present an overview of black vulture roosts and issues associated with Canadian geese.

This contest allows pet owners to showcase their pup(s) for the opportunity to have them featured as a Watershed Protector on our Doo The Right Thing social media profiles.
