“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
|
I had the great privilege of spending three days with John Lennox, the well-known mathematician and apologist, in the bushveld. Although I was part of the cooking team, I listened as he sat around the campfire with a few young pastors in the evenings, talking about life. We all hung on his every word. One thing I will never forget is when John said that he always first reads the last verse of a Psalm before reading the rest. He explained that the last verse, in most cases, provides an explanation of what the Psalm is about.
That is definitely true of Psalm 107, my favourite Psalm. The last verse states, “Let whoever is wise pay attention to these things and consider the LORD’s acts of faithful love.”
The entire Psalm 107 focuses on “these things” or “the LORD’s acts of faithful love.” This is also the theme of our first Revive Our Hearts SA women’s camp. We will explore the LORD’s faithfulness to His people Israel, as well as to each one of us today. I invite you to join us for the camp, or at least to carefully read Psalm 107 and join the Psalmist in rejoicing, “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever!”

Take Heart – God is Faithful! Women’s Evening of Worship, Word, and Renewal
|
 |
On Thursday, 28 August, the West Coast experienced a remarkable evening as 221 women filled the hall of Beacon Church, Langebaan, for an event supported by Revive Our Hearts South Africa. Though it was held on a weekday evening, the hall was filled to capacity, an unmistakable sign of hunger for God’s Word and fellowship.
What gave the evening its profound meaning was the spirit of unity and cooperation among the ADVANCE churches of the West Coast, which flowed through every part of the gathering. Church leadership was involved with vision and care. Men from the congregations humbly served in the kitchen, at the registration counters, and faithfully behind the scenes, which created space for the women to engage in the evening fully.
The heart of the evening centered on the message from Psalm 107, where Retha de Villiers spoke on the seasons of life. With warmth and clarity, she unfolded the truth from God’s Word, reminding women that no matter the season; brokenness, wandering, pain, turbulence, or rejoicing they might be in, God’s steadfast love remains constant. Her teaching left a deep impression on the hearts of many.
A highlight was the thoughtful preparation of beautifully created reflection spaces around the venue. These spaces invited women to pause, seek God, and pour out their hearts, reinforcing Retha’s message in a tangible and personal way. The impact of these stations was evident in the testimonies and words of gratitude that filled the atmosphere.
An all-ladies worship team led the gathering into a place of reverence and openness to the Spirit’s leading. Throughout the night, women experienced personal breakthroughs; some during worship, others while listening to God’s Word, and still others through a quiet conversation with a friend or in the stillness of the reflection spaces.
The evening could not have been conducted without a team of prayer warriors. Intercessors faithfully lifted the event before the Lord, not only in the weeks leading up to it but also throughout the night itself. Afterwards, their voices joined in thanksgiving as praise rose to God for all that He has done.
The presence of Revive Our Hearts resources added another layer of encouragement. Various books were made available, and it was heartwarming to hear how many women were already familiar with the ministry’s Bible studies. The night became a testimony to what happens when churches, leaders, men, and women work together for the glory of God: unity flourishes, lives are touched, and Christ is exalted.

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.

“The Creator of the universe who hung the sun, moon, and stars by His hand has spoken to you through His Word. He is still speaking to you through His Word today. Have you lost the wonder of hearing from Him? Has reading God’s Word become routine? Is your study of Scripture stagnant? What if the problem is not God’s Word, but the condition of your heart?
Hope is here. Get ready to behold the wonder of the Word!”

Introducing the new ambassadors
|
Ambassadors help leaders press on in the vital work of women’s ministry. They are eager to pray with you, to encourage you, to equip you, and to support you as you serve. Meet the 6 ambassadors from South Africa:
| Angie Grobler MBOMBELA, SOUTH AFRICA
Angie lives in the hot and sunny town of Nelspruit, in the eastern part of South Africa. She has been married to Pieter since 2001 and is blessed to have two daughters and their growing families. She was introduced to Revive Our Hearts by her mother, who, as a missionary’s wife, taught many ladies’ Bible studies. Angie began teaching a weekly Bible study in her home, and over the past decade, her ladies have worked through many Revive Our Hearts studies. She loves hosting an annual Revive Our Hearts conference at her church. She has a passion to see ladies grow in their walk with the Lord and be confident in their role as women of God through studying God’s Word with the help of structured Bible studies. She is always on the lookout for quaint coffee shops to visit with friends. She loves a good cup of coffee, as well as relaxing with her crochet.

Duduzile Hazel Masedi PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA
Duduzile grew up in a Christian home, and as she was growing up, her grandfather used to repeat to her, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:3–4). She has been married since 2006, and they are blessed with four beautiful children. Her heart is drawn to the establishment of concrete teachings and support for women to understand who they are in Christ and that Jesus is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. She wants to be used by God—to be His vessel to the glory of His name.

Theresa Rabie LANGEBAAN, SOUTH AFRICA
She grew up in a Christ-centered home and gave her heart to Jesus at the age of thirteen. But it wasn’t until she married her husband, André, in 1994 that her walk with the Lord deepened in ways she never expected. Over the years, they have followed where God has led them to serve, including Mozambique, Qatar and Oman. Each place stretched and shaped them, reminding her that God often places His children where they need Him most, so His glory can shine through their weakness. One of the most transformative seasons of her life came during her journey through cancer. It was then that she discovered Revive Our Hearts. Through this ministry, God reminded her of His truth, His faithfulness, and the hope we have in Him—especially in life’s hardest moments. She describes the ministry as a “constant heartbeat of truth.” Today, her heart beats for the Gospel. She longs to see Jesus heal the brokenhearted, set captives free, and bring beauty from ashes—just as He has done in her own life (Isaiah 61).

Cecelia Strohfeldt BLOEMFONTEIN, SOUTH AFRICA
Cecelia has been married to her husband Johann for over four decades and is the mother of three and grandmother of six. Her life bears testimony to God’s restoring power, having walked a long road marked by deep valleys and profound encounters with grace. Throughout her life, Cecelia has been profoundly moved by the influence of older women of faith and how their lives impacted generations. This awareness has shaped her own calling to disciple and mentor women, offering encouragement grounded in hard-won truth.
In 2019, Cecelia was introduced to Revive Our Hearts through the True Woman 101 Bible study. The teachings stirred a sense of belonging, and she was drawn to the Christ-exalting truth and reverence for God’s Word found in every ROH resource. Cecelia loves nature, geography and geology, beautiful books, and quiet mornings with Scripture. Her life continues to echo her 1998 promise: praise will be the offering that I bring You for the rest of my life.
